Frequently asked questions
How does email verification work?
Our engine tests each address in real time via an SMTP RCPT TO command, without sending any email. The receiving server confirms whether the address exists, in a few hundred milliseconds.
Is it GDPR compliant?
Yes. Our servers are in France (Scaleway, Paris region); no data leaves the European Union. A DPA (Data Processing Agreement) is available on request. Files are automatically deleted after 30 days by default, configurable up to 1 year.
Can you verify iCloud addresses?
Yes. Unlike most US competitors, we test @icloud.com, @me.com and @mac.com addresses via a dedicated SOCKS5 proxy on a European VPS with a clean, non-blacklisted IP.
Do your payments go through the United States?
No. Our payment provider is Mollie (Netherlands, European Union): your payment data and financial flows stay in the EU, with no transfer outside the Union. Most US competitors rely on Stripe (United States).
Is there a REST API?
Yes, REST API access is included in all paid plans. Authentication via Bearer token, endpoints POST /api/v1/verify (synchronous) and POST /api/v1/bulk (asynchronous). Full documentation at https://checkmails.eu/docs.
How can I test the service?

Are indeterminate results billed?
No. Indeterminate results (catch-all, uncertain iCloud, slow server) are never deducted from your credits — you only pay for addresses that are actually verified.
